Large folio. a massive 16 3/4" x 12'" format. 559pp. Produced on laid paper made specially at the James Cropper Mill (Burneside, nr Kendal). Text in red and black with numerous attractive illustrations and borders in the text. Publisher's full buckram elaborately blocked and lettered in gilt design after William Morris. Complete with the black ribbon page-marker. Housed in the card slipcase, with gilt title to side. Virtually new condition with the original shipping box. This scarce book remains a lovely facsimile of this important work.
